Meet Christian Tinor-Roy, secretary-treasurer

Since June 2022, Mr. Tinor-Roy has held the position of Secretary-Treasurer for a two-year term on the Board of Directors of the Val-d’Or Industrial Development Corporation and the Val-d’Or Housing Corporation.

Christian is a local contractor, president of Construction Trem-Nor and, since 2020, president and owner of Boulonnerie Mirault Fasteners.

Over the years, Mr. Tinor-Roy has continued the commercial expansion of his company with the addition of over 20 commercial buildings for rent and the rental and management of 160 residential units.

His companies now employ a team of over 50 experienced and qualified employees in various sectors of expertise such as construction, bolting and property management.

In 2007, Mr. Tinor-Roy began his post-secondary studies at the Centre de Formation Professionnel de Val-d’Or to become a carpenter in 2008.  He then worked for four years for a general construction company where he gained experience in his trade.

He discovered an entrepreneurial spirit and enrolled in a professional development program with the APCHQ, where he graduated as a general contractor in 2012.

The same year, Mr. Tinor-Roy and his business partner began the operations of their new company; renovation and construction, residential, commercial, industrial and institutional in Val-d’Or in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

Customer satisfaction, the well-being of his employees, the quality of the work, the guarantee of the work and the respect of the deadlines are the main values that animate his continued interest in his career as a general contractor.

Christian likes to “build things” and enjoys seeing the finished product of completed projects.

He considers his involvement with the CDIVD as a continuous training for the development of his entrepreneurial knowledge.  This allows him to remain up to date with laws, regulations and constraints encountered by other local entrepreneurs.

Mr. Tinor-Roy has a vision of Val-d’Or as a dynamic city with diversified service offerings. According to Christian, the quality of life of the region’s citizens depends on the abundance of sports and social activities available throughout the year.

He wishes to allow the city of Val-d’Or and the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region to stand out at the provincial, national and international levels, both from an industrial and tourist point of view.

The future of our organizations lies with young visionaries who are passionate and proud of their community. Christian impresses me with his drive and willingness to give back to the community.
