Corporation Habitation Val-d’Or (CHVD)
The Corporation Habitation Val-d’Or has undertaken the mandate of boosting real estate investment in the hope of alleviating the housing shortage and thus attracting more workers.
The role of this organization is not to compete with private real estate developers, far from it, but rather to “promote the emergence of a collaboration between various stakeholders in the construction and real estate industry in the Val-d’Or region”.
The first measure adopted by the Corporation Habitation Val-d’Or was to build 10 of a possible 11 affordable manufactured homes on the new Sévigny Street, developed in collaboration with the City and located in the Lemoyne district.
An area is being developed south of Roy Street, in the Baie-Carrière sector, to extend Louise-Lemay Street. Nineteen (19) more residences are planned
The Corporation Habitation Val-d’Or, in collaboration with the City of Val-d’Or, implemented a project to develop four (4) lots for rental buildings on Giguère Street. The project was a great success.
